As of October 1, salary debt to the miners on the temporarily occupied territories stood at 661.1 million UAH.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, the debt to state-controlled miners reached 289.3 million UAH.
Because of the Russia-supported military conflict in the East, Ukraine is experiencing a significant shortage of coal, in particular of anthracite.
In the 2017 state budget the Cabinet of Ministers intends to provide 1.8 billion UAH to finance coal industry, by restructuring mines and supporting miners. (Ukrainian metal)
