In January-June CHTPZ Group pipe companies (Chelyabinsk pipe-rolling and Pervouralsk New Pipe Works) have shipped 865 thousand tons of steel pipes to consumers, down by 19% YoY, or by 206 thousand tons.

The decrease is explained by the drop in the large diameter pipes (LDP) demand. This trend is observed at all major Russian manufacturers.

In H1 2016 metal makers shipped 356 thousand tons of welded pipes, including 323 thousand tons of LDP, down by 34% and 37% YoY respectively. The decrease was influenced by Gazprom projects realization shifts and the decrease in Transneft LDP consumption.

The group has also shipped 509 thousand tons of seamless products, down by 4% YoY. OCTG pipes shipments increased by 6%, to 180 thousand tons, mostly because of the increase in oil output. (Ukrainian metal)
