In January-June Zaporizhstal consumed 87.2 million cubic meters of gas, down by 15% YoY, while increasing output of steel by 2.2%, of rolled metal – by 3.6% and of pig iron – by 2.7%.
According to the company statement, gas consumption decrease was reached with the help of the program, which involved manufacturing effectiveness increase, expenses drop, energy saving projects and new technologies implementation.
In particular, in spring Zaporizhstal and Zaporozhkoks implemented the project of secondary gases exchange. At present some parts of the companies use a cheaper analogue of natural gas – coke-blast furnace and natural-blast furnace mix. Investments in the project totaled 75 million UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
