Ecology and natural resources minister of Ukraine Ostap Semerak has visited Zaporizhstal and has been shown the modernization processes: sintering machine No. 5 gas-purifying system construction, as well as the already working gas-purifiers at sintering machines No. 1-4; sand bed exsufflation system of the blast furnace No. 4, as well as the hydrochloric acid digestion line in the cold-rolling shop No. 1, that removed all the sulfuric acid steam emissions and industrial water dumping into the river Dnepr.
“In 2013 Zaporizhstal implemented gas-purifying system No. 1, with No. 2, 3 and 4 following in 2014 and 2015. No. 5 is 90% ready. We also stock all the necessary equipment for No. 6. It will be constructed in 3 months. Sintering factory gas-purifying reconstruction will be complete by October”, said the company CEO Rostislav Shurma.
By the end of the year the works plans to have finished blast furnace reconstruction. Zaporizhstal has spent 2.4 billion UAH on the reconstruction in the last 3 and half years. (Ukrainian metal)
