In January-May Ukraine mined 16287.1 thousand tons of coal, up by 1.5% YoY, or by 238.6 thousand tons.

Coking coal output increased by 11%, or by 367 thousand tons, to 3702.7 thousand tons, while that of power-generating coal went down by 1%, or by 128.4 thousand tons, to 12584.4 thousand tons, all YoY.

The Ministry of energy and coal industry companies decreased output by 9.5% YoY, or by 271.3 thousand tons, to 2575.6 thousand tons, including 761.8 thousand tons of coking coal (down by 11%, or by 94.1 thousand tons) and 1813.8 thousand tons of power-generating coal (down by 8.9%, or by 177.2 thousand tons).

Donetsk region mines yielded 6697.8 thousand tons of coal (up by 20.2% YoY), Lugansk mines – 1892.7 thousand tons (up by 20.3%), Dniepropetrovsk – 6949.2 thousand tons (down by 11.4%), Lviv – 651.2 thousand tons (down by 23.5%), and of Volyn region – 96.2 thousand tons (down by 20.7%).
