Beginning with April 11, without the official statement, DTEK Zapadenergo decreased acceptance of state coal from 3 thousand tons to 800-900 thousand tons per day.

“This decrease results in the rapid crowding of the coal at the warehouses and could lead to the absence of money for salary. State companies could also reduce coal mining. That would have a long-term negative financial effect and increase losses in future”, said the Ministry of coal and energy industry press-service.

Expected delivery volumes of state coal to Zapadenergo are around 80 thousand tons per month, or 20% of the total needs.

Zapadenergo thermal power stations were designed specifically to consume the regional coal. (Ukrainian metal)
