In 2016 Ukrainian metal companies will produce 26.5 million tons of steel, up from 23.2 million tons in 2015.
According to Sergey Belenky, the head of the Federation of Metallurgists of Ukraine, such forecast is made on the January-February results.
And in view of the steel smelting increase, the issue with scrap supplies gets more important. Ukraine can process 5-6 million tons of scrap per year, and that greatly exceeds current procurement volumes. (Ukrainian metal)
