Metallurgprom expects steel output in March on the level of 2 million tons, while pig iron and rolled metal output would total 2 million and 1.8 million tons respectively.
At present Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant and Donetsk Iron and Steel Works are idle. As of February 1, Ukraine operated 23 out of 30 blast furnaces, 8 out of 9 open-hearth furnaces and 18 out of 21 converters.
Metallurgprom forecasts for February were 1.8 million tons of both steel and pig iron each, as well as 1.5 million tons of rolled metal. (Ukrainian metal)
