Ukraine’s metal industry is among priorities for the authorities, but as for now it’s ineffective and not completely competitive.
“There is no discussion as to the fact that metal industry and its workers are among our priorities. But is this sphere effective? No”, said the president Petro Poroshenko, pointing to the company owners who never completed modernization when they had profits due to high oil prices.
“We need to protect our employees. But now metallurgy is a raw materials industry and is not completely competitive”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
