In Q4 global market steel prices have fallen considerably.
“The market situation is complex now, business profitability is negative, and metal prices have fallen. So the overall situation is not good”, said the Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD) executive director Maxim Zavgorodny.
According to him, Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky (DMKD) has decreased output volumes because of the number f overhauls, while Alchevsk Works has been utilizing only one blast furnace lately, with the second one put into operation this month.
“In the nearest future we plan to supply Alchevsk slabs to our European works”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
