In January-September Ukraine imported $1.25 billion worth of coal and anthracite.
According to the State Fiscal Service, the major suppliers of coal in the given period were Russia ($567.38 million), USA ($328.5 million) and Australia ($95.94 million). Other countries supplied $257.78 million worth of coal.
At the same time coal exports totaled $41.14 million.
Ukraine began feeling a shortage of power-generating coal in summer 2014, when due to the military activities, it lost control over most of Donbass mines.
