In January-May Ukrainian companies mined 15958.4 thousand tons of ordinary coal, down by 53.7%, or by 18482.3 thousand tons YoY.

Coking coal mining fell by 65.2%, or by 6238.7 thousand tons, while that of power-generating coal – by 49.2%, or by 12243.6 thousand tons, to 12634.6 thousand tons.

In the given period the Ministry for energy and coal companies decreased their mining by 72.8%, or by 7.6 million tons, to 2846.9 thousand tons, YoY, including coking coal mining decrease by 69.9%, or by 1990.4 thousand tons, to 855.8 thousand tons, and that of power-generating coal – by 73.8%, or by 5616.7 thousand tons, to 1.99 million tons.

Donetsk region mines provided 5572.4 thousand tons of coal, down by 62.7% YoY, Luganks mines – 1572.9 thousand tons, down by 85.5%, Dniepropetrovsk – 7840.6 thousand tons, up by 1.7%, Lviv – 851.3 thousand tons, up by 16.2%, and mines of Volyn region produced 121.3 thousand tons of coal, down by 1.1% YoY.
