The state informational and analytical center Gosvneshinform says steel scrap exports in January-May are up by 37%, or by 191.8 thousand tons, to 509.4 thousand tons, YoY.
The main importer of Ukrainian steel scrap was Turkey.
Meanwhile, steel scrap imports, mostly from Russia and Kazakhstan, fell 18.1 times, or by 23.24 thousand times, to 1.36 thousand tons.
The current export price of Ukrainian scrap is $240-245 per ton FOB.
In May Ukraine exported $25.23 million worth of scrap, while imports reached $0.43 million. (Ukrainian metal)
