In January-April Interpipe Steel produced 179 thousand tons of steel, down by 37.8% YoY.
According to a company representative, in April it produced 45 thousand tons of steel.
In the last few months Interpipe has been experiencing problems with scrap supplies. If the scrap shortages remain some 12 thousand employees might get fired. The company supports scrap export shortenings.
Interpipe Steel is the first Ukrainian metal works built in the last 50 years. The total volume of investments into construction reached $700 million. The works supplies steel billets for Interpipe pipes and railroad car wheels manufacture. (Ukrainian metal)
