In January-April Ukrainian companies produced 7.08 million tons of carbon steel, down by 29.7% YoY.
Pig iron output went down by 31.7%, to 6.42 million tons, while that of rolled metal – by 30.9%, to 6.18 million tons.
Coke manufacture decreased by 41.8%, to 3.29 million tons, while pipes production fell by 39.3%, to 289.45 million tons.
At the same time April has shown the best steel results since the beginning of the military activities (i. e. since July 2014), when the figures were 2.45 million tons.
On the other hand, average daily steel output is low: 59 thousand tons in January-April, with 64.2 thousand tons in April.
In 2014 Ukrainian metal companies produced 23.79 million tons of rolled metal, 27.16 million tons of steel and 24.81 million tons of pig iron, down by 17.7%, 16.9% and 14.8% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
