According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association (World Steel), the crude steel production by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) declined by 6.0% during the month of February YoY.
The total crude steel production by Belarus surged higher by 28.9% during February this year to 205,000 tons from 159,000 tons in February 2014.
Kazakhstan produced 231,000 tons of crude steel, down by 10.7%, as compared to 259,000 tons production achieved during February last year.
Moldova recorded 19,000 tons steel output during the month.
The total crude steel production by Russia was up by 5.6% from 5.435 million tons in February 2014 to 5.739 million tons this February.
There was marked decline in Ukraine’s crude steel output in February. Ukraine’s total crude steel output declined sharply by 33.2%, to 1.588 million tons in February 2015 when compared with the output of 2.377 million tons during February last year.
