In January-September Azovstal Iron and Steel Works (Mariupol, Donetsk region), a part of the Metinvest group, produced 2.41 million tons of rolled metal, down by 23.3% YoY.
According to a company representative, steel output in the given period decreased by 20.1%, to 2.74 million tons, while that of pig iron fell by 18.8%, to 2.4 million tons, all YoY.
Due to the halt of the sinter factory, sinter was not produced.
In September Azovstal produced 167 thousand tons of rolled metal, 219 thousand tons of steel and 189 thousand tons of pig iron. In August the work’s results were 205 thousand tons of rolled metal, 213 thousand tons of steel and 179 thousand tons of pig iron, while in July the company produced 299 thousand tons of rolled metal, 268 thousand tons of steel and 239 thousand tons of pig iron.
Output volumes decreased because of the fall in raw materials and coke supplies. (Ukrainian metal)
