Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, a subsidiary of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass, has announced that in February it plans to cut its crude steel production by 5% compared to January to 380,000 tons and to reduce its production of steel products by 4% MoM to around 350,000 tons due to repair works at the mill.
In January Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works produced 400,000 tons of crude steel, up by 23% compared to January 2012, and 367,000 tons of steel products, up by 31% YoY. (SteelGuru)
