Ukrainian steel output in February declined by 7.7% YoY to 2.46 million tons compared with a year earlier.
Mr. Pavel Perkonos, an analyst at the Kiev based researcher, said average daily steel output in the first two months of the year declined by 6.1% YoY.
He said that “Ukrainian plants continue to adjust production of steel to declining global demand”.
The researcher said Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant cut output by 70% in February due to disrupted scrap metal supply.
Azovstal Iron and Steel Works, a part of Metinvest, Ukraine’s biggest steelmaker, cut output by 29% in February.
Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works increased production by more than 80%.
