According to preliminary data, in the January to February Ukraine increased its steel pipe output by 65.6% YoY to 348,000 tons. This increase was due to the significant growth in output of Metinvest subsidiary Khartsyzsk Pipe Works, which in January to February produced 101,300 tons of steel pipes, up from 19,230 tons produced in the same period last year.
On the other hand, the pipe producing subsidiaries of Ukraine’s Interpipe Corporation increased their steel pipe output by 22% to 139,100 tons as compared to January-February 2010.
Specifically, in the first two months of this year Interpipe NTRP registered a 34% increase in its steel pipe production to 65,100 tons, Interpipe Niko Tube saw its steel pipe output increase by 29% to 48,200 tons, while Interpipe NMPP steel pipe output decreased by 7% to 25,800 tons. (SteelOrbis)
