It is reported that Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works and Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), the steelmaking subsidiaries of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass, have issued their preliminary production results for the first ten months of the current year.
Accordingly, in January to October Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works saw its crude steel production decline by 21.5% YoY to 2.431 million tons, its finished steel product output dropped by 20.9% YoY to 2.252 million tons, pig iron production fell by 22.4% YoY to 2.156 million tons and its agglomerate production declined by 5.3% YoY to 3.596 million tons.
In October Alchevsk produced 221,000 tons of crude steel, down by 1.8% MoM, 193,000 tons of finished steel products, down by 16.45% MoM, 193,000 tons of pig iron, down by 1% MoM and 307,000 tons of agglomerate, down by 12.54% MoM.
During the first ten months of the current year, DMKD registered a 20.5% YoY decrease in its crude steel production to 2.264 million tons, a 22.6% YoY drop in its finished steel product output to 2.123 million tons, an 18.8% YoY fall in its pig iron production to 2.153 million tons and an 11% YoY decrease in its agglomerate output to 3.545 million tons.
In October DMKD produced 258,000 tons of crude steel, up by 11.2% YoY, 241,000 tons of finished steel products, up by 14.8% YoY, 240,000 tons of pig iron, up by 12.15% YoY and 405,000 tons of agglomerate, up by 17.7% YoY. (SteelOrbis)
