It is reported that in January to August Zaporizhstal steel works increased production of its major metal products in comparison with the same period of the last year.
During 8 months production of pig iron grew by 0.9%, to 1.833 million tons, steel smelting – by 2.7%, to 2.229 million tons, finished steel – by 1.25% to 1.843 million tons. Production of sinter increase by 1%, to 3.257 million tons.
In August Zaporizhstal produced 229,000 tons of pig iron, 289,000 tons of crude steel, 249,000 tons of finished steel and 419,000 tons of sinter.
Zaporozhye iron ore mining and processing complex, which is partially owned by Zaporizhstal, produced 2.969 million tons of iron ore in January to August. In August it produced 339,000 tons of iron ore.
Zaporozhkoks, in which Zaporizhstal has a control package of shares, decreased production of coke during 8 months by 1.2%, to 827300 tons. In August it produced 107 thousand tons of coke.
In January to June Lugansk Tube Plant, owned by Zaporizhstal, boosted production by 23%, to 148500 tons. In August it produced 21,000 tons of tubes. (Ugmk.info)
