Metal companies in Ukraine will boost steel smelting by 15.8% in June compared to expected production in May, to 2.2 million tons, and steel roll production will grow by 12.5%, to 1.8 million tons.

The plan for June foresees a rise of 17.6% in pig iron production, to 1.7 million tons.

In January-April pig iron output fell by 32% YoY, to 6.431 million tons, steel production was down by 30%, to 7.076 million tons, and rolled steel output – by 31%, to 6.152 million tons.

In April 1.706 million tons of pig iron was made, as well as 1.922 million ton of steel and 1.683 million ton of rolled metal.

Ukrainian iron ore supplies in April grew by 390 thousand tons compared to March, to 2 million tons. In January-April 7.5 million tons of Ukrainian-made iron ore was supplied to metal companies.

Imported iron ore supplies (from Russia) totaled 36 thousand tons in April. In January-April imported supplies reached 290 thousand tons.

A total of 280 thousand tons of scrap metal was supplied to metal companies in April and 900 thousand tons in January-April. (https://en.interfax.com.ua/news/economic/265410.html/Ukrainian metal)
