Ukraine: Donetsk region export down 3 times in H1 2015

In January-July Ukrainian companies exported $5062.89 million worth of ferrous metals, down by 41% YoY ($8580.41 million).
The steel production by Ukraine dropped considerably due to the ongoing political instability in the region. More importantly, imports and exports of scrap metals declined during the first half of the current year.
In January-May export share of the Zaporozhye region companies into EU increased. Zaporozhye share reached 29.7% of the total export volumes.
In June Ukraine exported $166.59 million worth of long rolled products, with imports on the level of $10.14 million.
State Enterprise Ukrpromvneshexpertiza has recorded the maximum level of ferrous scrap exports in June for the last 10 years.
The Federation of Metal Manufacturers of Ukraine has requested ferrous scrap export limits in the second half of 2015.
In June scrap deficiency for domestic consumption totaled 100 thousand tons, or 26% of the needs.
