Ukraine’s Prime-Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk has ordered the minister for economic development and trade Aivaras Abromavichus to deal with the metal scrap deficiency.
In January-July Donetsk region (without the antiterrorist operation zone) exports fell 2.7 times YoY.
In August Ukraine exported $167.39 million worth of long rolled metal products, with imports on the level of $9.88 million.
In January-August Ukrainian companies received $5715.03 million for ferrous metals exports, down by 40.3% YoY.
In January-June Ukrainian companies exported 10.2 million tons of ferrous metals worth $4.2 billion, up by 26.7% and down by 42.1% YoY respectively.
In January-August Ukrainian companies exported 992.85 thousand tons of ferrous metals scrap worth $241.9 million, up by 56% or by 59% and by 10.6% or 22.7% YoY respectively.
The President of the Ukrainian analytical center Alexander Okhrimenko says the fall at the Chinese stock exchange will affect Ukrainian metal export revenues.
