It is reported that in the first eight months of the current year, the Ukrainian flat steel producer Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works saw its crude steel production rise by 32% YoY to 3.59 million tons.
In addition, in January to August this year, Ilyich finished steel product output went up by 23.8% YoY to 2.416 million tons, its pig iron production increased by 33.2% YoY, to 3.04 million tons, its agglomerate production grew by 42.5% YoY to 7.151 million tons while its steel pipe output increased 2.15 times, to 51,100 tons.
In August Ilyich produced 486,000 tons of crude steel, up by 15.7%, 306,000 tons of finished steel products, up by 8%, 401,000 tons of pig iron, up by 11%, 911,000 tons of agglomerate, up by 7.3%, and 3,600 tons of steel pipes, down by 7.7% all compared to July 2010. (SteelOrbis)
