In August, Ukraine recorded an average 60.1% drop in steel, pig iron and rolled product output.
Ukrainian metallurgical plants produced 4.3 million tons of steel in the first eight months of the year, 12.5% less than in the same period last year. Steel output fell by 57.3% MoM in August.
Pig iron production declined by 14.8%, to 4.35 million tons, with a 65.6% monthly drop in August.
The steepest fall was in rolled products: output in the eight months was 3.6 million tons, 15.6% below last year’s level, and 57.4% lower than in July. (Ukrinform)
