As part of the program to replenish the mineral resource base and increase reserves at the operating mines and pits of the Kazakhmys corporation, geophysical surveys have begun on the flanks of the Zhezkazgan ore district and in adjacent areas.
The surveys are being conducted by Qazaq Geophysics. As part of the project, specialists have begun electrical exploration work using the near-field transient electromagnetic (NFE) sounding method at three sites located on the flanks and deep horizons of the operating mining facilities.
The purpose of the work: to study the geoelectric section of the surveyed areas with the subsequent identification of structural elements, such as the depth and thickness of the main geoelectric horizons.
The total volume of research is more than 30 linear km.
The results of geophysical studies will form the basis for making decisions on further geological exploration work. (MetalPortal)
