On May 24 the coking battery of Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Works produced the first coke.
“For the first time in three years of military activity the works has reached its full capacity”, the company said in its statement.
Avdiivka Coke was cut from grid as the result of intensive shelling in August 2014 and had to shut down its manufacturing process. Because of the temperature change the refractory masonry of the battery was destroyed.
The employees were able to repair damages, but because of the regular problems with energy it was impossible to put the battery into operation for a long time.
The coking battery No. 8 will increase coke output at the works to 8.5 thousand tons per day. (Ukrainian metal)
