Evraz NTMK has started producing a new size of the I-beam for railroad car-building.
The first trial batch with the weight of 300 tons has already been shipped to the customer.
The new beam was produced at the order of Uralvagonzavod and has non-standard sizes. Neither Russian, nor foreign standards have such sizes and types.
The 13S1 beam is produced of high-strength 12G2FD steel, alloyed with tungsten and copper to provide for a longer durability. (Ukrainian metal)
