Mineral Product International plans to build a plant to produce FeSi-75 ferrosilicon in Ekibastuz, Pavlodar region.
The project cost is EUR 213 million ($253.5 million).
Of this, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan has promised to provide EUR 148 million ($176.1 million). The financial institution did not disclose the terms.
Chevron Direct Investment Fund plans to invest an additional $23.5 million.
The relevant agreements were signed in early February.
The plant is expected to produce up to 89,900 tons of ferrosilicon per year.
The plant is expected to be commissioned in the fourth quarter. (Logistan)
