As part of the investment project “Development of the Yoshlik I deposit”, which is rightly called the project of the century, three modern Hitachi quarry dump trucks were added to the fleet of the technological transport department. The trucks were delivered in parts in July of this year and were fully assembled within one month.
On August 22, the Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk MMC Abdulla Khursanov met with representatives of the transport department before putting these auto giants into operation. He emphasized that Hitachi equipment will be used for the first time in Uzbekistan at the Yoshlik I mine. According to him, the new dump trucks will increase the efficiency of ore transportation, and in the future, it is planned to supply even more modern equipment to the mine.
A modern vehicle, created on the basis of Japanese technologies, has a lifting capacity of 221 tons. The driver’s cabin has all the necessary conditions and amenities. The control system, fully automated in accordance with modern requirements, allows you to easily and without unnecessary inconvenience control the machine. The dump truck is equipped with a more powerful Cummins engine, which provides additional benefits and significantly increases the machine’s ability to transport heavy loads. For safety and ease of operation, the vehicle is equipped with modern video cameras with a 360-degree view, allowing monitoring the situation around while driving. The traction system includes modern generators and electric traction motors, which significantly facilitates the operation of the equipment and increases its efficiency. In addition, the dump truck is equipped with a set of modern systems: prevention of slipping and sliding, reduction of vibration in the longitudinal plane, protection against lateral displacement, electrodynamic braking, automatic speed control and the ability to maintain a given speed mode even when driving downhill. To prepare the personnel, the specialists of the Japanese company organized training for 33 drivers of the technological transport department on how to work with new equipment.
To date, 54 BELAZ dump trucks with a lifting capacity of 130 tons, as well as 29 BELAZ dump trucks with a lifting capacity of 220 tons, delivered between 2017 and 2020, are used to transport rock mass at the Yoshlik I mine. In 2024, the fleet was replenished with five NMT-240 vehicles with a lifting capacity of 236 tons, which are already working in the quarry.
Now they have been joined by three Hitachi dump trucks, becoming reliable assistants to the miners. In the future, it is planned to deliver seven more such vehicles to the plant.
The appearance of new equipment can safely be called a worthy gift for the 34th anniversary of our country’s independence. (MetalPortal)
