The Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) has released an official statement announcing that the company’s salary fund will increase by an average of 20%.
The statement emphasizes that ZCMC’s management, acting as a guarantor for its employees, assumes the relevant commitments and assures that the changes will be implemented within the established timeframe.
“The development of a salary revision system began in September 2024. This system accounts for work experience, qualifications, classification, and tariff rate adjustments. As a result of the ongoing process, the total salary fund will increase by an average of 20%. Management will implement the new salary system in key production units within a month of resuming operations.
“Considering the numerous written and verbal complaints regarding medical insurance, ZCMC management will announce an open tender on February 17 to select a new insurance provider that meets employees’ quality service expectations,” the statement reads.
Regarding workplace improvements, it is noted that in recent years, ZCMC has conducted a technical audit of existing systems and projects, which was completed in December 2024. Following this, the process of designing and acquiring new systems began.
“The company guarantees that modern, high-efficiency ventilation and aspiration systems will be installed in the main production units no later than the end of 2025. Dear employees, we urge you to return to your workplaces. Together, we can achieve these goals and resolve the existing challenges. ZCMC is a united team, and our common goal is the efficient operation of the plant for the well-being of employees, the development of the region and Armenia’s prosperity,” the statement concludes.
Some employees of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine have been on strike since January 31, demanding a salary increase of 120,000-150,000 AMD and improved working conditions. Management has dismissed eight participants of the strike. (PanARMENIAN)
