In 2023, industrial enterprises of Kryvyi Rih decreased air pollution while carrying out explosions by 9% YoY.
During industrial explosions, dust, nitrogen dioxide and hydrogen dioxide are emitted into the air.
At present 9 quarries operate in the city, belonging to ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, UGOK, CGOK, InGOK, Ukrainian Mining Company LLC and Rudomine LLC.
Last year, these companies made 181 massive explosions, using 33.3 thousand tons of explosives (without TNT) and blasting 33.2 million cubic meters of rock. The use of such explosives allowed decreasing air pollution by 3.9 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
