Ukraine will retain the prohibition of the power-generating coal exports to cover national interests.
“This is a very complex issue. Undoubtedly, business is interested in exports. But the decision to ban exports guaranteed the supply of energy resources to the domestic market,” the energy minister German Galuschenko has said.
This autumn-winter season Ukraine survived without importing coal. Before the start of the season, Ukraine had more than 2 million tons of coal, and at its end – 1.2 million tons.
Now, coal stocks amount to 1.5 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
