In January, Ukraine imported 40.9 thousand tons of flat rolled metal, down by 30% MoM, but up by 3.1% YoY.
According to the State Customs Service, expenses decreased by 26.6% MoM and by 19.6% YoY, to $50.66 million.
Imports of coated metal with the width of 600 mm and more totaled 24.6 thousand tons (-7.5% and -11.5%) valued at $29.8 million (-6.2% and -29.7%). Hot-rolled uncoated metal with the width of 600 mm and more amounted to 10.64 thousand tons (+50.2% and +686.6%) valued at $9 million (-55.5% and +502.6%).
Ukraine also imported 2.1 thousand tons (+3.3% and -36.2%) of corrosion-resistant flat rolled steel with the width of 600 mm and more valued at $5.17 million (-2% and -42.7%).
The largest suppliers of coated metal were Turkey (25.64%), China (22.38%) and Poland (20.78%). Italy (27.87%), Poland (24.78%) and Turkey (20.11%) supplied more than 70% of hot-rolled uncoated metal, while the main supplier of corrosion-resistant steel was China (63.75%). (Ukrainian metal)
