In April 2023, ArcelorMittal intends to resume limestone quarrying in the de-occupied settlement of Arkhangelskoye on the north of Kherson region.

At present everything is mined and destroyed there, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih CEO Mauro Longobardo has said.

“Two weeks ago together with the military I went to the de-occupied Arkhangelskoye to see with my own eyes what was the condition of ArcelorMittal Berislav. One must be very careful there, as there are still many mines. It is impossible to work in the quarry yet. It is important to quickly demine the territory, so that from April 2023 we resume limestone extraction,” he said.

According to Longobardo, the Russian occupiers used the enterprise as their headquarters and built serious shelter there. As a result of shelling the machinery and buildings were destroyed. (Ukrainian metal)
