Russia started stealing Metinvest metal products back in 2014, when it occupied Donbass, and continues doing this in Mariupol, where the group has two metal giants – Azovstal and Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.

The group has already filed a suit to the international court over the theft and will make Russia pay.

“We have prepared over 230 thousand tons of metal products for shipping in Mariupol. And they were stolen by Russians. Naturally, we note all the cases. And this is only a part of our claim to the Russian Federation after we sued them for the occupation and destruction of our plants and the theft of our products,” Metinvest CEO Yuri Ryzhenkov has said.
