A temporary ban has been imposed on the export of coal from Kazakhstan by road. The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the republic adopted the corresponding order.
The decision was made in connection with the discovery of facts of export of solid fuel intended for the population, communal and social facilities from the border regions of Kazakhstan to neighboring countries for resale.
“The decision was made jointly with coal mines and administrations of the regions to achieve the goals of the 2022-2023 heating season and is aimed at preventing a shortage of coal during a period of active demand from the population and the public sector,” the statement says.
