Severniy Mining and Processing Works has for the first time planted wheat on 40 ha of tailings to battle dust.
The project to strengthen dry surface with grains is being carried out under a program to improve environment.
The war has drastically changed the operation of Metinvest enterprises in Kryvyi Rih – ore mining has been suspended and the tasks have been rearranged between shops. But the environmental measures of dust suppression remain among the priority directions.
In spring, SevGOK planted wheat on 15 ha of dry surface, and 25 ha would be planted until mid-September.
With good weather, until the end of autumn wheat will grow up to 10 cm and will hold dust on metallic sands in winter. (Ukrainian metal)
