ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has repaired a water pipeline and the pump station No. 4, which have a strategic significance for the manufacture.
The pump station is situated at the clarification pond No. 1 between the blast furnace shops of the metal manufacture and the manufacturing complex of the blast furnace No. 9.
The pond provides blast furnace shops Nos. 1 and 2, converter shop, sintering shop and other departments with water.
The pump station No. 14 operates together with the pump station No. 15 at the second clarification pond. Water pipelines from each are then merged into one main pipeline with the diameter of 1220 mm via which the water is delivered. Since the system was created in 1990s, the pipe got clogged with carbonate sediments. The specialists have cleaned more than 1 km of the pipe.
The repair of the pump station No. 14 lasted for 2 months. When it was relaunched, the work on the pump station No. 15 began. (Ukrainian metal)
