Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works has asked the Cabinet of Ministers and the President’s Office to impose personal sanctions on Russian residents who are illegally seizing and reselling Ukrainian metal.
At the start of the Russian invasion, around 145 thousand tons of Mariupol Ilyich metal remained in the city, including 124 thousand tons in the port. The products were intended for European enterprises, but were not delivered due to the war.
In late May, the ship RM3 with Mariupol Ilyich products onboard headed for Rostov-on-Don. The ship is owned by Reka-More LLC (Russia) created by Gennadiy Arustamov.
Mariupol Ilyich has already addressed the law enforcement services asking them to launch a criminal investigation. The company denies any cooperation with the aggressor country or the occupation authorities.
The company claims such activity endangers the national interest, safety and economy. (Ukrainian metal)
