In 2021, Ukraine increased scrap export 17.2-fold YoY, to 615.7 thousand tons valued at $238.9 million, up 25.2-fold.

According to the customs statistics, in December 2021, exports grew 28.7-fold, to $27 million, and 23.6-fold, to 68.2 thousand tons.

The main customer was Turkey (84.85%), followed by Romania (6.7%) and Poland (3.45%).

Imports in 2021 dropped by 13.1%, to 23 thousand tons valued at $44.9 million, up by 72.4%. The suppliers were Turkey (60.4%), Russia (33.4%) and Poland (3.4%). (Ukrainian metal)
