On December 2, the Verkhovna Rada increased the scrap export duty from EUR 58 to EUR 180 per ton.
The decision was supported by 242 MPs.
Earlier the Ministry of Economy intended to increase the duty to EUR 200 per ton, but the Cabinet of Ministers returned the draft.
Since mid-year, metal companies have been lobbying for the scrap export ban until the end of 2023 in order to maintain the stable operation. (Ukrainian metal)
