A company called Hun-Banyaszat Kutatasi, Fejlesztesi es Innovacios Kft. made some calculations and plans regarding opening a mine and sent them to the Hungarian Mining and Geological Service at the end of last October. This would be a new business venture, as the Hungarian company was registered in 2018, and originally had iron ore mining as its primary activity. However, it is an interesting fact that ore contains 1.05 grams of gold and 27.51 grams of silver on average.
Works would take place at terrain as large as 44.23 square kilometers, in the Nagyirtas and Rozsa-hegy area. According to the submitted documents, “the ore assets explored in the Nagyirtaspuszta area contain 1,075.8 tons of crop gold and 909 tons of crop silver, while in the Rozsabanya area, there are 18.6 tons of gold and 98.85 tons of silver.
The area was known for precious metals even centuries ago, in the era of the Kingdom of Hungary that lasted from 1000 until 1301.
Currently, there is only one other company operating in the land that Hun-Banyaszat is interested in. Colas-Eszakko Banyaszati Kft. mines andesite in the Southeast area from Marianosztra. (Daily News Hungary/Ukrainian metal)
