ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih begins a complex reconstruction of its blast furnace No. 9 valued at $270 million.

Following the reconstruction the blast furnace will reduce dust emission.

Now the furnace produces 9200 tons of pig iron per day. After reconstruction it will use not only sinter but also pellets as raw materials. Pig iron output will grow to 12.5 thousand tons per day.

AMKR signed an agreement on the reconstruction with CISDI UK in 2019.

The reconstruction is expected to be completed until the end of 2023. (Ukrainian metal)
