In January-May, Ukraine procured 1.57 million tons of scrap, up by 35.1% YoY.

The growth was due to high purchasing prices of metal companies, as well as increasing activity of exporters.

Metal companies received 1354.9 thousand tons of scrap, up by 23.6%.

Scrap stocks are estimated at 140-145 thousand tons.

Exports amounted to 146.3 thousand tons, up almost 10-fold.

Imports grew from 6.8 thousand tons to 10.4 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
