In 2019, Ukrainian mining and metallurgical complex increased capital investments by 37.3% YoY, to $1.914 billion.

This is a record-high level for Ukraine. According to GMK Center, it corresponds to an average global level of $50 per 1 ton of steel.

The share of investments in the mining and metallurgical sector amounted to 8.1% in 2018 and 8.5% in 2019.

4 largest companies invested $942.1 million in 2017, $1.425 billion in 2018 and $1.66 billion in 2019.

This year, Metinvest is expected to invest $650 million, Interpipe – some $40 million, Ferrexpo – $150 million and ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih – $1.5 billion in 5 years. (Ukrainian metal)
