In January-March, Ukraine imported 258 thousand tons of limestone, down by 67% YoY.

Lime imports, at the same time, grew by 13%, to 17 thousand tons.

The decrease in import is due to the drop of demand from metal companies, the main customers. Steel industry accounts for two thirds of overall consumption.

This year, limestone consumption is expected to fall from 14.9 million tons in 2019 to 14 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
