Imposition of a duty on Russian coal will have a positive impact on the Ukrainian coal industry, Acting Minister of Energy of Ukraine Vitaliy Shubin has said.
“The government is taking steps to resolve the situation in the energy market. In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the introduction of a special duty on certain goods from the Russian Federation that are imported into the customs territory of Ukraine, namely on electricity and coal, except for anthracite and coking coal, in the amount of 65% from April 1, 2020. This decision will have a positive impact on the situation in the coal industry of Ukraine,” the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine reported.
As reported, on March 18, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to impose a 65% duty Russian electricity and coal, except for anthracite and coking coal. (Ukrinform/Ukrainian metal)
